Granville Science & Technology PURPOSE OF THE JOBThe Global Capital Delivery (GCD) Estimator is accountable for supporting, collaborating with, and auditing projects estimates using available tools.
It is critical for this role to collaborate with program directors, program managers, project managers, design coordinators, sourcing leadership, project controllers, and lead engineers, and accordingly with design, sourcing, and construction strategies established project by project.
Support the development of a specific estimation application process to support the GCD team while also updating the standardized process for all business units.
Have the capability to interpret and appropriately apply various sources of information related to both International & North American projects, to ensure projects, have IGA level estimates.
Be the champion of Cost Model Manual to ensure compliance with cost accounting requirements.

Granville, OH or RemoteJOB RESPONSIBILITIES Supporting Safety:
Make safety part of every project ensuring a safety budget is allocated for every project and is aligned with project execution strategies.
Be a safety champion Project & Program Estimation:
Maintain the projects' estimates data repository, enter, track, and manage database to have data readily available for future estimating needs.
Following the FEED/FEL design development process to assess the adequacy of the estimate accuracy levels.
Utilize historical data, externally acquired quotes or estimates, purchase orders, subcontracts, drawings, proposal specifications and any other data necessary to build cost estimates, starting from the scope of work prepared by the engineering team.
Project cost estimates to consider total lifecycle costs (LCC) and recommendations are made that will help guide/coach leadership and project managers to make the most economical decision over the lifecycle (i.
e.
, not just initial purchase price).
Build out the appropriate Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) within the projects that will be loaded into SAP for cost control and tracking.
Foster an environment of continuous improvement by tracking the accuracy of estimates and continuing to improve the accuracy of estimates over time.
Have a business acumen to monitor various sources of information and understand the impact(s) to related project estimations.
Based on updated perspectives, this role will appropriately escalate concerns/risks to help the organization make corrective course corrections.
Tracking and Integrating Industry & Marketplace Information:
Coordinate with Market & Cost Analyst Leader to reflect the latest information in materials costs, inflation, deflation, and availability/lead times.
Partner with Capital Sourcing to track major costs factors fluctuations in the Market, especially for standard equipment supplied by preferred vendors.
Process Improvement and learning:
Analyze waste/loss of company resources & time from both past similar project work and the current project over the course of the project.
Ensure that lessons learned from past projects are lessons applied on future/ current project(s) to ensure loss elimination and greater project efficiency/effectiveness.
Establish best practice integration in future projects.
In addition, ensure a collaborative approach within the organization is used during all execution phases.
Talent Development:
Helps to develop personal growth and development plans with their immediate supervisor ensure project are supported with accurate numbers in a dynamic marketplace.
Provides concepts for estimation improvement opportunities on an individual basis and for the GCD team as a whole.
Drives a sense of greater data integration into project estimations and elevates not only their own skill set, but that of the team as well.
JOB REQUIREMENTSMINIMUM
Qualifications:
Nationally standardized estimating system and knowledge of multiple nationally recognized estimating system.
Bachelor of Science in business, marketing, engineering, or related field required 5-7 years of experience in project estimation roles for capital investments to support manufacturing assets Estimation Software:
Working Knowledge of 1-2 estimating platforms Experience deploying estimation software Proven ability to develop and drive focus and critical factors to attain short and long-term estimation goals Database management and Spreadsheet skills Partnering with Engineering, Capital Sourcing, PMO support team, and manufacturing sites around the world Compliance with company policies and regulations Broad functional background & work experience in estimation Demonstrated track record of driving results in difficult situations and implements strategies in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Ability to lead up and down the organization and drive critical decision making Extremely effective communicator, ability to clearly articulate program objectives and outcomes at all levels of the organization and drive with simplicity and clarity the key decisions that need to be made Great presentation skills for effectively communicate messages to leadership and management.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/
Qualifications:
Knowledge base of how project construction sequence affects the cost estimate Certified Project Estimator by ASPE or AACE Experience in engineering estimation, construction estimating, budgeting and tracking of cost related to the original estimate structure MBA in business, marketing, engineering, or related field preferred Osha 10 hours certified Complex project leadership, operations, and/or business development TPM and/or LEAN manufacturing involvement 6 Sigma Black or Green belt PMP Certification KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) to effectively communicate with people across all levels of the organization.
Ability to direct and collaborate across diverse teams.
Ability to adapt in various working environments(development laboratory or manufacturing plant floor for equipment start-up and commissioning).
Basic knowledge in a continuous process manufacturing environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and/or projects at one time.
