Laboratory Technician

Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm This work will include:
Primary role is to support the Product Testing Leads to test insulation.
A variety of insulation is tested including batts, rolls, pipe, and loosefill.
Testing support looks like:
sorting material as it is delivered on pallets, organizing by type, planning testing, follow through with testing, and accurate data collection.
At times there will be the need to make bales from the waste material.
Testing includes but not limited to, density, tensile strength, wet performance, and thermal performance.
Will work closely with Product Testing Leads to meet customer expectations for quality, turn-around time, communication of testing status, and achievement of overall lab outcomes.
Strong computer skills and confident in ability to enter data in Excel.
Training on test methods and site safety is an ongoing expectation.
Safety is a primary focus at OC.
Safety expectations will be provided and continuous.
Lifting and standing for long periods of time will be required; worker must be able to repetitively lift objects up to 35 lbs and stand for a large portion of the day.
Steel toe shoes (not provided), dust mask, bump cap, and safety glasses required.

Education Requirements:
Associate Degree or higher preferred Prior laboratory experience in ASTM/ISO/IEC/ANSI Thermal, Acoustic or, Fire testing helpful.
Knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures, good computer skills needed - Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
Timing:
Position starts immediately with a maximum duration of two years.
