Sr Product & Program Spec

Location: Granville, Ohio - United States PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Sr. Product & Program Specialist is accountable to execute the product certification process for government or customer specifications to ensure that all Owens Corning Roofing products meet or exceed industry standards and applicable building codes. This includes coordination with plants and outside test facilities, documentation of test procedures and results. In addition, the Sr. Product & Program Specialist provides timely/accurate technical support to our customers, the sales team and GETPINK team for technical questions on building codes, industry standards, building science, design practices, and product specifications. Working closely with Science and Technology, product management, and marketing, the Sr. Product & Program Specialist is accountable to develop technical communications that are current, accurate, and accessible. Reports to: Technical Services Leader JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Product testing and certification Execute and manage the product certification process for government or specific customer specifications, including coordination with plants and outside test facilities. Document results. Maintain and ensure that all Owens Corning products achieve claimed performance and code compliance requirements as defined by UL, Florida Building Code, CRRC, Miami-Dade, TDI, etc. Work with external and internal test labs to ensure that test procedures are executed in accordance with applicable standards. Communicate product/system test results to internal stakeholders in a timely manner, and assist in developing a strategy for resolving any challenges encountered. Provide product testing and certification for private label products customers. Provide direction and assist new product development teams to meet codes and standards requirements. Monitor and interpret government specifications, building codes, certification requirements, and performance standards that impact the selection and application of roofing products. Customer & sales support Provide timely/accurate technical support to our customers, the sales team and GETPINK team for technical questions on building codes, industry standards, building science, design practices, product specifications, literature and training. Engage with building officials and contractors on code compliance questions and standards interpretations in support of the sales team. Provide support and presence on standards organizations, trade association committees and other groups involved in standards writing, code, government and other specification compliance including ARMA, CRRC, and ASTM. Technical communications Write relevant, accurate technical bulletins that support the proper use and care of Owens Corning roofing products. Develop and execute a process to ensure that all Owens Corning roofing technical bulletins are up-to-date, have proper approvals, and are easily accessible by all stakeholders. Assist in the creation of new marketing communications pieces and revision of existing marketing materials as required. Work closely with Science and Technology, product management, marketing, and legal teams, ensuring the technical accuracy of all data sheets, catalogs, packaging manuals and any other materials where technical data is presented. JOB REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : BS Engineering/Science based degree required. EXPERIENCE : 3 ? 5 years in building materials industry, prior roofing industry experience preferred Experience in testing laboratory environment, executing product testing and communicating results Experience working with certification agencies KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES : Lives the Safety Stand, adheres to safety responsibilities. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
