Product Development Engineer

Location: Granville, Ohio - United States PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Mineral Wool Product Development Engineer/Scientist focuses on developing innovative solutions for Mineral Wool insulation products as a part of the Insulation Core Technology S&T team. This position will be responsible for leading new product development and product improvement projects for the Mineral Wool business. Reports to : Mineral Wool Program Leader Span of Control : Individual contributor JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrates and unconditional commitment to safety Implements a personal safety action plan and executes with excellence. Leads and participates in trial safety reviews. Drives trial process improvements to ensure the safety of all trial participants. Demands compliance with all standard safety procedures and policies. Mineral Wool Product Development Lead new product development projects for bonded and granulated Mineral Wool from initial business case to commercialization. Identify and quantify product performance requirements based on specifier, installer, building code, and end user needs. Develop product design, process, and manufacturing requirements for new products. Determine manufacturing process capability. Plan and execute manufacturing plant trials; evaluate new product prototypes with target customers; complete product qualification for all required internal and external performance standards. Work with Mineral Wool business, manufacturing operations, sourcing, financial, and other stakeholders to drive commercialization of new products. Mineral Wool Product Improvements Lead S&T projects to deliver product quality and productivity improvements. Understand and quantify the impact process changes will have on manufacturing operations, product performance, and business financials Drive implementation of process changes using Management of Change procedures. Team Collaboration Facilitate collaboration between S&T, Process Development, and Operations teams to achieve business objectives around Mineral Wool product cost, quality and innovation. Able to gain alignment, support, and required resources for product improvement and development trials. Clear and regular communication of project status, learnings, and issues to technical, operations, and business teams. JOB REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor?s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related science or technical field Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills Strong technical aptitude for manufacturing processes Strong data analysis skills Strong project management skills Travel: Up to 40% EXPERIENCE : Experience in fiberglass and/or mineral wool insulation products and manufacturing processes. Hands-on experience with the manufacturing equipment related to insulation processing and manufacturing. Six Sigma Green or Black Belt KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES : Ability to interact and relate to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to develop an understanding of end-user, specifier, fabricator, and OC manufacturing needs. Robust approach to trial planning and execution from safety through set point design. Demonstrated ability to safely adapt thinking and trial plans to the demands of the moment in a high-pressure environment. Able to understand a broad range of technical issues and demonstrates unconventional, out-of-the-box thinking in approaches to problem resolution. Analyzes data and focuses on the root cause of a problem. Able to make decisions both through analytics and under conditions of high uncertainty. Weighs risks and prioritizes actions to deliver organizational effectiveness with speed. Works well across functions; forms and leverages connections across business functions (e.g. sourcing, manufacturing, finance, etc.) to advance work and enhance project success. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
