Project Technician

Location: Granville, Ohio - United States PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Project Technician actively participates on teams that deliver technical solutions that significantly impact the residential roofing business. Reports to : Roofing Process and Materials Innovation Program Leader JOB RESPONSIBILITIES JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrates an unconditional commitment to safety Implements a personal safety action plan and executes with excellence. Drives process improvements in the Roofing Rough Work Area (RWA) to ensure the safety of all Executes non-routine task hazard assessments Actively participates in safety events and plant trial safety huddles Improves Roofing Quality and Productivity Though Innovation Teams with scientists and engineers to develop and validate innovations that will improve roofing product quality and productivity Utilizes knowledge of quality metrics to help design plant and shinglet line trials Tests material produced during trials to validate trial hypotheses Provides basic analysis of trial data Creates equipment prototypes to test new ideas for shingle process Participates in plant trials across North America Develops new test methods Balances multiple assignments across multiple projects Operates shingle prototype line Maintains the prototype line, knows as the shinglet line, with standard maintenance and cleaning Develops ideas to expand and improve the capabilities Helps scientist and engineers design and conduct trials Evaluates product attributes of shinglet line material Trains new employee and contract employees on the safe operation of the shinglet line JOB REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Associates degree in a technical field is required. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills Technical aptitude for manufacturing processes Must understand and use basic statistics and be comfortable using a computer. A working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) required Mechanical, hands-on aptitude Travel: Up to 40% EXPERIENCE : Experience in a manufacturing and laboratory environment Hands on experience in product testing Six Sigma Green or Black Belt KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES : Self-starter who works with minimal supervision and balances multiple assignments Comfortable and confident in a team environment; naturally wants to help others. Works effectively across technology and production groups to ensure project success Flexible, open attitude with the ability to respond quickly to the demands of the moment. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
