Process Engineer - Strategic Environmental Technology

Location: Granville, Ohio - United States Job Description As a member of the global Strategic Environmental Technology Center of Excellence, the Process Engineer will be a key technical leader of environmental capital projects for Owens Corning, focused on: Zero environmental non-conformities Leading edge materials Reuse & Recycle Air Pollution Control Technologies Thermal & Bio Oxidation Technologies Water Pollution Elimination & Control Physical, Chemical and Biological wastewater treatment - focus on Industrial Landfill design/site remediation Global risk assessments The Process Engineer will demonstrate his/her strong technical experience in the field of environmental engineering, including air, water, and waste, by leading regulatory/environmental projects for Owens Corning that range from $100K-$90MM. Job Responsibilities Complete detailed design of air pollution control projects for industrial operations to support project team to ensure successful execution of productivity projects, including the delivery of engineering solutions across a range of projects and locations, from concept engineering through detailed design & calculation. Complete detailed design of wastewater treatment plant projects for industrial operations to support project team to ensure successful execution of wastewater projects, including the delivery of engineering solutions across a range of projects and locations, from concept engineering through detailed design & calculation. Provide project management leadership and work in close coordination between Science & Technology (S&T), Engineering, plants, Environmental, Health & Safety, Sourcing, and Regulatory Law Communicate the impact of S&T programs on Owens Corning?s future capital plans by communicating costs, timing, and technical potential for success as future scaled up programs Develop an understanding of what vendor equipment and engineered systems are readily available, what our competition is doing, and the costs of these initiatives Job Requirements Education BS Degree or higher in Chemical Engineering (preferred), Mechanical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering. 10-15 years? experience in process and environmental engineering in industry is required. Strong air, waste, and wastewater technical background, including extensive knowledge of all project phases (including conceptual design, pre-design, detailed design, and construction administration). Global Travel Requirements to 30% Experience in process design, equipment selection, airflow design, and removal efficiency for various EPC projects Experience in process design, equipment selection, hydraulic calculations, applicable laws, regulatory codes and techniques used in design and inspection of a variety of wastewater EPC projects The ability to conceptualize, plan, and organize multiple assignments is a must Familiarity with standard landfill design and operations for industrial landfill operations. This will include but not limited to standard berm design, groundwater detection and monitoring operations and overall site drainage. Excellent technical skills and be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
