Payroll and Benefits Manager


Corporate Granville, Ohio
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Payroll Administration
  • Oversight of the semi-monthly payroll processing and review of data entry for payroll by the Payroll and Benefits Specialist
  • Responsible for the review of the Payroll and Benefits Specialist's work including processing of new hires and terminations in payroll system and time card reconciliations for hourly employees
  • Update and review garnishments and payroll tax related items
  • Assist with payroll reporting and other ad hoc information requests

Benefits Administration
  • Responsible for day-to-day administration of benefit plans by assisting employees, confirming data integrity in benefit systems, and serving as a liaison between the company and broker/vendors
  • Serve as the lead in open enrollment coordination, communication and execution
  • Manage all communications to employees regarding benefit plans, changes and enhancements
  • Participate in benefit renewals negotiation and coordination, working directly with senior leadership and broker
  • Ensures compliance of benefit programs with various local, state federal and governmental regulations including Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Employee retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) reporting and disclosure requirements and annual filings (such as 5500s)
  • Ensures all benefit plan documents, summary plan descriptions, booklets and information brochures are accurate and current
  • Provide Accounting and Human Resources with reports and all applicable required reporting
  • Assist in special projects as needed

Computer Software Requirements:
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in business with an emphasis on accounting and/or human resources, or related work experience
  • Experience in ADP or similar payroll system
  • Experience in employee onboarding platform
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
